This page explains how to delete your postSOMA account, what is deleted, how long it takes, and what the law requires us to keep. It also has the data deletion instructions for people who connected Facebook, Instagram, or Threads.
1. Before deleting
- Download your data, if you want: under Account and privacy ("Conta e privacidade"; in the web app, under "Contas"), tap "Download my data" ("Baixar meus dados"). You receive a file with your sign-up data, profiles, and posts. The links to photos and videos inside the file are valid for only 10 minutes, so download what you need right away.
- Cancel store subscriptions. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel in the store (see the Subscription and Payment Terms). Subscriptions paid directly to postSOMA (card or Pix) are canceled along with the account deletion.
- Sort out your teams. If you are the only owner of a team that has other members, hand ownership to someone else or delete the team first.
- Delete what you want on the networks. Deleting postSOMA does not delete posts that are already live.
2. Delete the account in the app
- Sign in to your account.
- Open the account area:
- iPhone and iPad: Profiles > Account and privacy ("Perfis" > "Conta e privacidade").
- Mac: Account and privacy, in the sidebar.
- Android: Account and privacy.
- Web app (postsoma.vercel.app): Accounts ("Contas").
- Tap "Delete my account" ("Excluir minha conta") and read the summary of what will be deleted.
- Confirm with the 6-digit code we sent to your e-mail. The code is valid for 2 minutes. If the app asks, also type the word EXCLUIR (it means "DELETE").
- Done: the session ends and you receive a deletion protocol code.
If an error appears, the deletion was not completed. Try again or write to contato@digitaisoma.com.
3. Delete the account by e-mail
If you cannot use the app:
- Write to contato@digitaisoma.com, preferably from the account's e-mail.
- Subject: Delete my postSOMA account ("Excluir minha conta do postSOMA").
- Give the account's e-mail and how you sign in (Google, Apple, or e-mail and password).
To protect you, we will send a code to the account's e-mail to confirm the request is yours. We never ask for your password. We confirm receipt within 5 days and complete the deletion within 15 days after confirmation.
If you lost access to the account's e-mail, say so in your message. We will arrange another way to confirm your identity, asking for the minimum of information.
4. What is deleted
| What | What happens |
|---|---|
| Sign-up data (full name, e-mail, CPF or CNPJ, date of birth, country, CEP, Google or Apple identifier, password) | Deleted |
| Network tokens | Deleted immediately. We ask the network to revoke the authorization, when it offers that feature |
| Connected account data (name, @, photo, identifiers) | Deleted |
| Your personal team: posts, captions, media, history, and automations | Deleted |
| Comments and messages handled by your automations | Deleted |
| Notification tokens of your devices | Deleted |
| Your membership in other people's teams | Removed. The content you created in those teams stays with them, without your name as author |
| Session on the device | Deleted on sign-out. You can delete the app from the device at any time |
5. How long it takes
- Immediately: the session ends, the network tokens are deleted, and the revocation request is sent to the networks.
- Within 7 days: removal of any remaining data from the systems in use, including data received from YouTube.
- Backups: deleted data leaves the provider's backups when they are replaced, within 30 days. Until then, it stays protected and is used only for disaster recovery. If an old backup needs to be restored, we will delete again the data of those who asked for deletion.
6. What the law requires us to keep
Even after deletion, some records are kept for a limited time, with restricted access and with no use for any other purpose:
| Record | Deadline | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Access records (IP, date, and time) | 6 months | Marco Civil da Internet (Brazilian Internet Civil Rights Framework), art. 15 |
| Record of your acceptances (document, version, date, time, IP, and platform), tied to an identifier that does not directly reveal who you are | 6 months | Proof of the contract and of consent (LGPD, the Brazilian General Data Protection Law, arts. 7, VI, and 8, § 2) |
| Record of the deletion request (code, origin, dates, and status, without name or e-mail) | 5 years | Proving that we complied with the request and defense in any legal proceeding (LGPD, arts. 7, VI, and 16, I; CDC, the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code, art. 27) |
| Tax data of purchases (when there is a paid plan) | Period set by tax law, generally 5 years | Legal obligation |
| Support messages | Up to 5 years | Defense in any legal proceeding |
| Data requested by court order or legal request | For the period of the order | Legal obligation |
When the periods end, these records are deleted automatically.
7. Delete only some data, without deleting the account
- A post: open the post and tap "Delete" ("Excluir"). It leaves the app immediately and is permanently deleted within 30 days.
- An automation: open the automation and delete it.
- A network: under Profiles (in the web app, under Accounts), choose the account and tap "Disconnect" ("Desconectar"). The token is deleted immediately and that account's data within 7 days. The team's posts stay in postSOMA, without that destination account.
- Other data: ask at contato@digitaisoma.com.
8. Remove postSOMA in each network's settings
You can also cut off postSOMA's access directly on the network. The menus change often; if you cannot find it, look for "apps and websites", "connected apps", or "permissions".
- Facebook: Settings & privacy > Settings > Apps and websites (or Business integrations) > postSOMA > Remove. In the browser: facebook.com/settings?tab=applications.
- Instagram: Settings > Website permissions > Apps and websites > postSOMA > Remove. In the browser: instagram.com/accounts/manage_access.
- Threads: Settings > Account > Website permissions > postSOMA > Remove.
- YouTube and Google Business Profile: go to security.google.com/settings/security/permissions, choose postSOMA, and remove access.
- TikTok: Settings and privacy > Security & permissions > Apps and services > postSOMA > Remove access.
- X: x.com/settings/connected_apps > postSOMA > Revoke.
- LinkedIn: Settings > Data privacy > Permitted services > postSOMA > Remove.
- Pinterest: Settings > Security and access > Apps > postSOMA > Revoke access.
- Bluesky: Settings > Privacy and security > connected apps or app passwords > remove postSOMA.
When you remove access on the network, we delete that account's data when the network notifies us or when we notice the revocation. In Google's case, within 30 days.
9. Data deletion instructions: Facebook, Instagram, and Threads
To ask for the deletion of the Facebook, Instagram, or Threads data stored by postSOMA, choose an option:
Option A: through the network itself
- Remove postSOMA in the network's settings (item 8).
- Meta sends postSOMA a deletion request tied to your account.
- We delete the data that came from that account: identifiers, name, @username, photo, Pages, tokens, and the automation data of that account.
- We generate a confirmation code, which Meta shows you, with a link to follow the status of the request.
Option B: through postSOMA
- Under Profiles (in the web app, under Accounts), choose the Facebook, Instagram, or Threads account.
- Tap "Disconnect". The tokens are deleted immediately and the rest of that account's data within 7 days.
Option C: by e-mail
- Write to contato@digitaisoma.com with the subject Meta data deletion - postSOMA ("Exclusão de dados Meta - postSOMA").
- Give the e-mail of your postSOMA account and the @username or the Page name.
- We confirm the deletion by e-mail.
To also delete your entire postSOMA account, follow items 2 or 3.
10. If you do not have a postSOMA account
If you commented on or messaged an account that uses postSOMA and want your data deleted, ask the account owner or write to contato@digitaisoma.com with the @ of the account you talked to. We will help locate and delete the data.
